In-Depth night is in 24 HOURS!
I could not be more nervous and excited at the same time. Performance wise, I think Jackson and I are ready! I’m excited to see how tomorrow night goes.
Anyway, the main reason I am writing this optional blog post is because I wanted to make a quick announcement – I REACHED MY BIG GOAL!! My “meeting expectations” goal was to post seven videos, which I reached a while ago! My “exceeding expectations” goal was 10 covers, which I reached barely an hour ago!
This video is extra special- so special that I wanted to dedicate an entire blog post towards it. If I’m being honest, I realized only today that I had one day left to produce another cover. Things are pretty stressful right now, and I knew I wouldn’t have time to record the video and audio from scratch today.
Yet then I remembered – this is my final cover for this project! It has to be more than what I usually do.
Luckily, I had just the audio of a song recorded from a while back, but never put a video to. The song also has very sweet and positive lyrics, which go really well for the final cover. I decided to compile a montage of all my previous nine videos to make this one! It would be an ode to everyone who has been part of my journey so far, and an ode to In-Depth. I wouldn’t have had the courage or motivation to make this channel myself, but through these past five months I feel like I am ready to continue this on my own! And that’s the whole point of In-Depth anyway, right?
I’m proud that I was able to keep producing quality content that I was proud of and that my fellow peers enjoyed watching. I get better at it overtime, and my mentor has been a HUGE help. The video consisted of mini clips from all my videos, with a rainbow overlay representing all the 9 videos I had done so far. In fact, the thumbnail and last frame itself was a collage of all my previous thumbnails:
While making the video, it was incredible to see the progress I had made. It’s really taught me that if you apply yourself, make a plan, and get the help you need, almost anything is possible. I would like to thank (again) everyone who has offered support, directly or indirectly. From the featured singers, to my mentor, to Ms Mulder, I couldn’t thank you all enough. It means the world to me that you all were willing to offer your skill and insight to further my success.
I am very happy with my final product, and can’t wait to showcase my new skills tomorrow!
